Zonghui Ding, PhD is a Research Assistant Professor in the Bioinnovation and Genome Sciences Division. Prior to joining TGen, Dr. Ding served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neuroscience at Mayo Clinic, where he secured both internal grants from Mayo Clinic and an extramural grant from the Arizona Alzheimer’s Consortium. His work focused on developing nanobodies to target key therapeutic proteins implicated in Alzheimer’s disease. Dr. Ding holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Ph.D. in Cancer Biology from Zhejiang University in China.

With extensive research experience spanning molecular biology, cellular biology, biochemistry, cancer biology, and neuroscience, Dr. Ding specializes in the development of nanobodies and picobodies (bovine knob-domain antibodies) to target disease-critical proteins. Under the leadership of Dr. John Fryer, his work drives innovative therapeutic strategies, including T-cell-based CAR T therapies and multi-valent therapeutic platforms.
